Its back to business on September 24th for Muamer Hukic. The reigning champion will put his IBO belt on the line when he squares off with Ovill "The Upsetter" McKenzie at the Festhalle Frankfurt.
And in the Brit Hukic choose a very uncomfortable opponent to defend his newly won title for the first time. The last time McKenzie stepped into the ring was October 2015 when he missed out on the chance to make the IBF championship his own due to draw, which later was seen as a controversial decision as expert had "The Upsetter" as the winner. But now the 36-year-old is more motivated than ever to finally capture himself a world championship.
Of course Hukic is aware of the danger McKenzie poses and he won't leave anything to chance when the pair meet on September 24th. Nevertheless the 31-year-old champion is confident in his own abilities and looking forward to getting back into the ring.
Muamer Hukic: "There are people who will write off Ovill just because of his record. Ramirez made that mistake and in my eyes he lost and Ovill should be the IBF champion right now. I know exactly what it feels like when your hard work is not being honored with a deserving victory and how it can lead you to excel and be even more motivated the next time you step into the ring. That is why I will train just as hard as I did the last time I fought. McKenzie is travelling to Germany to take what is mine and I cannot and I will not let that happen. I fought against Brits on five previous occasions and never have I lost. I will continue this winning streak come September 24th.
Ovill McKenzie: "This is a fight I've wanted for a long time, Huck likes to fight and we can both bang, it's a shoot out, man against man and I'm very excited to fight him in Germany. England V Germany adds extra spice to what will be a fantastic fight for the fans. It's the perfect match up and I dont think judges will be needed as both of us have that one big punch that can end a fight instantly and I think my power will prevail"
